Our Wedding Season
We had a beautiful wedding season that felt like it authentically represented the two of us. We have felt immensely loved by all of you - from the proposal day, to the Gwau Maoro, our ceremony and then our intimate Hinterland Festival Wedding Reception.
We truly feel so blessed to have this community within our obit who continue to strengthen the two of us as individuals and therefore us as a couple.
This is now an archive of one of the most precious days in our story, with many more moments and memories to come...
Our Gwau Maoro
Loosely translated to 'we agree', the Gwau Maoro of James and Moale was held on the 20th May 2023 and was an intimate gathering and opportunity for both the Proud and James family to acknowledge this union in a Motuan culturally significant way.

Our
Engagement Party
An opportunity for the couple and their wider community to celebrate the news of their engagement party.
The couple and their families put on a 'mu-mu' in an outdoor-winter garden party for the wider community to meet, dance the night away and devour slow-cooked food together.

Our
Wedding Ceremony
Held on the 27th June 2024 at 11:30AM at Albert Street Uniting Church in Brisbane City. The wedding ceremony of James Proud and Moale James brought together their communities from across the ocean to commemorate and celebrate their union in a way that reflected both of their identities and stories.
Our
Hinterland Festival Wedding
Held on the 27th June 2024 at Coronation Hall in Somerset Dam, we embraced the whimsical atmosphere and aesthetics of a festival with live-music, food and bar trucks with outdoor lawn games in a local community hall.
We wanted to embrace the beauty of the Australian hinterland and it's bush-native florals and bring the vibe and spirit of a love festival.
